Privacy policy

Your reading data

Vero does not require a Vero account. Imported books, reading positions, highlights, notes, bookmarks and reading records are stored on your device. They are not sent to Apple or RevenueCat for purchase verification. Device backups may include local app data, depending on your system settings.

Purchases and service providers

Apple and RevenueCat process trial, purchase, restore and access verification requests, including when the app starts. They may process product and transaction identifiers, purchase and revocation dates, an anonymous app user ID, storefront, device and app versions, and network information needed to handle requests. Some processing may take place outside your country or region. Vero does not receive your Apple password or full payment card details. See the providers’ privacy policies below.

Files, photos and sharing

Vero accesses files and cover images you select. Saving a reading card to Photos requests permission when needed. Exports, sharing and diagnostic archives are initiated by you and can contain book text and reading records; review their contents and recipients before sharing. Vero does not use your books or notes for advertising.

Problem reports

When you report a problem, Vero prepares a report with a screenshot of the current page, the current chapter’s text, the book title, layout and font settings, your description, and app, system and device versions. The chapter’s original source files are included only if you turn that option on. The report opens as an email draft to support@veroreader.com in your mail app and is sent only when you tap Send; your email provider handles the message under its own policy. We use reports only to diagnose and fix problems, do not use them for advertising or share them with third parties, and delete them when they are no longer needed, no later than 12 months after receipt.

Retention and your choices

Use Vero’s delete and export features to manage local reading data. Trial expiry does not delete books or notes. Removing the app normally removes its data container, but purchase verification records in Keychain may remain. Apple and RevenueCat retain transaction and service records under their policies and applicable requirements. Contact us for requests to access, correct or delete relevant data.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions and data requests, contact the Vero team using the email below. This policy describes the current app; updates will be reflected here with a new revision date.
